Promises Made - Promises Fulfilled
When I ran in 2018, my campaign materials listed these items as my goals. How did we do?
Restoring confidence and communication between the Sheriff and Deputies and Sergeants
Establishing positive collaboration between the Sheriff's Office and other Law Enforcement agencies and public safety entities
Creating a proactive unit to address street level drug dealers, burglars, vehicle prowlers, and mail and ID thieves. There are time proven methods that are effective in dealing with these issues. A uniformed Deputy in a marked car is limited in its effectiveness in these situations.
Have the Sheriff and his Command staff be responsible for Sheriff's Office policy updates.
Make hiring Deputies for unfilled positions a high priority. I would expedite the hiring process and actively recruit academy trained applicants.
